In 1986, Markos & Widly, Inc. formed a company that manufactured bean bag chairs,
called American Bean Bag Company. A year later, the company grew,
and began manufacturing futon convertibles and foam furniture.
The company need to change its name to include the expanded furniture lines;
therefore, calling itself Elite Products. Since 1987, Markos & Widly, Inc.
conducted business under this name, manufacturing a mix of products that
included futon convertibles, futon mattresses, futon covers and accessories,
bean bag chairs, foam furniture and various accent furniture pieces.
In 2003, Markos & Widly, Inc. began a project to brand each major furniture line it was currently manufacturing. All products related to futons became Elite Convertibles. ™ All items related to bean bag furniture became Bean Bag Factory, ™ which includes pre-filled bean bags and the Bean Bag Factory retail merchandising system. All products that are filled with modular or shredded foam became ModFX™ Foam Furnishings. These brands were sold and marketed under Elite Products.
In July 2005, Markos & Widly, Inc. began a process to change the name,
Elite Products to American Furniture Alliance™. American Furniture Alliance,
“A company of quality & affordable brands.”
It manufactures all the furniture lines that exist currently under Elite Products.
American Furniture Alliance takes over everything produced under Elite Products,
and sets the company up for growth and expansion.
Today in 2007, American Furniture Alliance has added a new line of stylish,
contemporary furniture entitled ModernLoft Collection™ two new lines of futon
covers the LXE and the LUXE, and finally to complete this facelift we have
